Random thought: Parental/child kissing
So I watched “The Bachelor” last night (followed by the Most Dramatic After the Final Rose show EVER), and kept getting weirded out by how Jason (the bachelor) kisses his son on the lips. I know I’m a bit uptight about PDA, but I don’t feel I’m being too prudish when I say I don’t get the whole kissing-on-the-lips thing between blood relatives. Maybe it’s something passed down among folks of European ancestry?? Certainly it’s not something I’ve ever seen Indian people do. We hardly hug, much less kiss each other — anywhere! That’s all for now. I know it’s been over a month since my last post, but I just haven’t had the mental energy to blog the past few weeks! I’m sure I’ll be in a more blogging-friendly mood once daylight-savings time begins..

I agree kissing blood relatives on the lips is odd. My family when I was growing up did so, but Misty and I don't with our kids. On the cheeks, forehead, etc., fine, but not the lips. Now I'm afraid the kids'll see this as somehow me being a cold and distant father, but it's just not something I'm comfortable with. So it's not just you who wonders about that. :)

Oh, pffft! My dad is one of the most loving guys in the world, and he somehow shows me that without kissing me ;o) I don't think he's ever even kissed me on the forehead or cheeks or anything. So you're free to abstain!
